delta® has been an art performer, dancer, choreographer, art director as well as light, stage and S&M artist since the late 70's.

After initial autodidactic experiments with the German expressionist dance of the 1920s, he devoted himself to the Japanese Butoh dance and founded in Berlin in 1988, the first German-Japanese dance company: tatoeba-THÉÂTRE DANSE GROTESQUE with Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka. Since 1995 he also curates together with Yumiko Yoshioka the international butoh dance-eXchange & performance festival eX...it!, which takes place all 4 years at Schloss Broellin/Germany. This year for the 6th time.

In 1998, he started to devote himself to interactive dance (ritual feet washing) and met through that Felix Ruckert with whom he teams up since 2000. At first he worked as a dancer in several interactive performances and till now also as the administrative head of the Xplore-Festivals, schwelle7 and of the non-profit association Compagnie Felix Ruckert Berlin e.V.

His many years of private S&M-disposition got in collaboration with Felix Ruckert a new dimension: sadomasochistic rituals developed into an art of sensual communication with artistic and philosophical approach. As a workshop presenter he is in particular trying to give an understanding of the spirituality behind BDSM as a love play. In his "white" S&M rituals artistic expression and loving devotion merge with the imparting of an intense "pleasure-pain-feeling" for the body and a liberating catharsis for the soul.

As part of the Creation Team of all the Xplore-Festivals he is responsible for production affairs, especially all the websites, financial affairs, registrations and participant's support.

Penitence - Atonement through painuk08-32

This workshop highlights the story of misconduct, atonement and breaking rules and the remorse, penance and punishment that follows. Punishment especially has for all of us a painful aspect. Whether it is a punishment of the body or the soul, everything that hurts us can also teach us something when we consciously give into the pain. We all have experience with punishment whether in childhood or as an adult.

For some of us, it is mainly psychological through humiliation or the withdrawal of love, for others it is mainly bodily through all forms of beating and other painful sanctions. Every one of us deals differently with his or her experiences and many of us reproduce their experiences in different forms throughout their whole life. Some compensate by taking the parental role to correct and punish others while some choose to take the child’s role and feel quite well in enduring humiliation and punishment. This behavior is found also in "real life" in love games.

If there is no counterpart demanding penance, many develop instruments of self-punishment such as the withdrawal of food (bulimia, anorexia) to all kinds of psychosomatic disorders including religious-based self-flagellation (Opus Dei). Bringing to consciousness our unconscious mechanisms of punishment and symbolic acting out can have therapeutic effects in helping us deal with traumatic "guilt and atonement" experiences instead of torturing our bodies with diseases.

We will discuss our various personal experiences with breaking rules and punishment in this workshop, and reflect on possible somatic kinds of self-punishment and get to deal with them in the form of punishment scenarios (that are effectively painful) in a playful way.

Out Door FloggingadR-8785

What a great opportunity that we can leave the hidden space and go out into nature for playing secret games…

We will look for a beautiful area in the close-by wood and also for natural tools. There we will find some branches for birching or also some stinging nettle stems…

Between trees and bushes we will find great spots to play with pain and pleasure wile flogging or getting flogged.

Of course we will go through a variety of practical exercises which give you a feeling for the use of different tools. Only the one who knows what it feels like to get whipped, is able to use a whipping tool responsibly.
By concentrating on the softness in our brain and body we will transform ourself into a snake or whip in order to feel the very nature of what we are doing. It will bring us the idea of being connected with our partner very deeply as we are responsible for each other in love.

We will therefore experience that there is actually nothing dark or secret by having a playful massage while a soft warm wind is caressing your skin too.
